Why we built it

Why did we build NexQloud Drawback?

Drawback refunds up to 99% of the duties, taxes and fees paid on imports that are later exported or destroyed.[1][2]

Most companies that import and export never claim it, because it means matching every export to its import entry and duty line.

  • 9,017

companies filed drawback from 2007 to 2016.

    CBP, November 20, 2018[3]

  • 87,016

companies imported and exported in 2024.

    Census, May 5, 2026[4]

The periods differ, so the two numbers are not a ratio.

So we built an agent that does the matching for any importer. It drafts every claim line with its evidence and hands each line to a licensed broker to decide.

You choose how your records are handled: Sealed, private by default and provable on request, or Standard for everyday records.

Drawback, fed by the 2026 duties, is the refund that repeats. Our aim fits in one line: "Get your duty back with AI. Your records stay private."

What CBP pays, and who claims it

CBP paid about $1 billion a year in drawback, as of December 2019, the latest official figure.[5]

Drawback works in any industry that imports and then exports, returns or destroys goods. In CBP's random sample of past claimants, 41.3% were wholesalers, 29.3% manufacturers and 8.8% retailers.[3]
