How it works:
- Find. The agent reads the Chapter 99 lines on each CBP 7501 and flags every entry with IEEPA duty.
Place. For each flagged entry, it records what your records show: liquidation date, any protest, entry type, and whether a CAPE declaration was filed or accepted.
It notes which phase may fit, for your broker or refund firm to confirm.
It also flags entries where a surety paid the IEEPA duty, which CBP says to leave out of CAPE.
- Hold. Flagged entries stay out of every drawback claim until CAPE is settled.
- Release. Once an entry's CAPE question is settled, drawback can proceed on its other duty, computed on final liquidated duties. No duty dollar goes into both.
You get a list your broker or refund firm can act on. We don't file CAPE; you or your filing broker does.
The check is included in every drawback engagement at no extra charge.
Refund firms can register a client list and run it across the whole book.
